Through Hala's Eyes
Bashir Gül, 20, sits next to his sister, Hala, on the floor of their living room, Gaziantep, Turkey, Aug. 17, 2023. Bashir, along with his sister Sabiha, suffers from severe Epidermolysis Bullosa, which causes the fingers and toes to fuse together in addition to painful, infected blistering both internally and on the skin's surface. The Gül family cannot afford all of the expenses that stem from their children's significant medical needs, even with assistance from the Turkish government.
